Media Culture is seeking a highly motivated Digital Media Director to oversee the strategy and execution of our digital media campaigns, including OTT/CTV, Streaming Radio, Programmatic Display and Video, Paid Social, and Paid Search. This position will be responsible for overseeing as well as planning and executing campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, Google AdWords, and various DSPs, among others.

The Digital Media Director is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of client accounts. Working in conjunction with account teams, data analysts, and Digital Media Managers, the Digital Media Director will assist in designing and coordinating digital media campaigns. This individual must ensure that the clients' expectations are consistently being exceeded.

Preferred candidates will be self-starters, with an ambition to help grow expertise and services within the agency. This candidate will possess knowledge and passion for the Digital Media landscape, push innovative thinking and set challenging team goals and objectives while balancing client, company, and team needs.

A successful Digital Media Director at Media Culture is one that can lead a team by example and can train and educate that team to become subject matter experts in their areas of practice. This Digital Media Director needs to be hands-on managing campaigns and providing support as needed, whether that is placing GTM pixels, implementing campaigns, developing client reporting or supporting the various teams with whatever tasks need to be completed. In short, we need someone who is collaborative and is willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Principal Duties + Responsibilities


Campaign Management: 30%
  • Develop and lead the execution of digital plans and buys
  • Manage all digital media buying activities and digital staff across Media Culture’s portfolio of clients including, but not limited to streaming audio, OTT, display, programmatic, search and social
  • Be the subject-matter expert on all Google AdWords, Facebook and DSP offerings and opportunities including: all ad units, targeting options/providers and inventory sources
  • Create timely and compelling buy/post-buy presentations
  • Collaborate and assist teams with campaign set-up, trafficking, conversation tracking and campaign billing actualization
Team Management: 20%
  • Regularly monitor team performance and goals while balancing client and Agency priorities
  • Act as a mentor to junior team members including assessing development and training needs for the group while exploring areas of growth
  • Manage team workload, ensuring client KPIS, deadlines, and expectations
  • Establish and maintain best practices including systems and procedures for timely and accurate processing of work
Client Management: 20%
  • Develop and cultivate strong client relationships
  • Demonstrate an understanding of client business goals and objectives and push the envelope, when appropriate, by bringing new ideas, solutions and thinking to the table
  • Prepare and present strategic media recommendations to client and agency management, including objectives, strategy, rationale, and all backup materials
  • Be the main point of contact for client performance reports, strategy recommendations, and questions regarding campaign performance
Thought Leadership: 10%
  • Provide POVs and insight and act as a thought leader on Digital media activity and development to clients and agency leaders
  • Regularly participate in relevant continued education opportunities including webinars and conferences
  • Work with Account Executives and Traditional Media counterparts to evangelize Digital capabilities and identify opportunities both internally and with existing clients
Business Development: 10%
  • Contribute to new business development as required
  • Develop strategic new business presentations to pitch to C-level clients and marketers
Vendor Management: 5%
  • Actively develop and maintain strong media vendor relationships
  • Ongoing discovery and analysis of new vendors and platforms
Stewardship: 5%
  • Communicate regularly with senior management on client status, team performance and financial goals
  • Internally and externally communicate technical concepts in layman’s terms
  • Partner with Analytics and Technology to ensure seamless workflow
  • Develop ever-evolving POV on the synergy between Digital and Traditional media and the continuing evolution of the media ecosystem
  • Stay abreast of current events, social/digital media trends and, any target market industry trends that impact business

Basic Qualifications

Required Experience + Skills:
  • 7+ years of Digital Marketing experience working in online marketing, with hands-on (self-service, not through a managed services vendor) experience in OTT, streaming audio, programmatic, paid search, and paid social
  • Experience with direct response brands and performance marketing campaigns, managing to strict cost per targets
  • 5+ years of successful experience in team management, growing and leading a high-performance team
  • Proven record of success in leading full-service digital accounts and teams
  • Prior agency experience (preferably at a large digital agency) a must
  • Experience as a key decision-maker in a client-facing role
  • Experience with web analytics platforms, such as Google Analytics and/or Piwik (Matomo)
  • Hands-on experience with managing campaigns within a DSP (preferably The Trade Desk)
  • Strong written, presentation, analytical, quantitative, and verbal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to work with all levels of the business and establish solid relationships
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to organize, prioritize and multitask
  • A self-starter, one with a positive and enthusiastic approach to all tasks
  • Ability to drive initiatives and execute tasks while working independently
  • An eager attitude and willingness to learn
  • Polished and professional, confident in communication with executive leaders
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new technologies
  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Basic knowledge of HTML and JavaScript related to digital advertising and optimization
